Because of the difficulty getting appointments to get our rescue cats altered in a timely manner, we recently launched our pre-spay/neuter adoption program. The cat you are interested in may be part of this program and will have at least it’s first FVRCP vaccine, a microchip registered to us and will have been treated for internal and external parasites. Please fill out our screening form and after reviewing and confirming your information, our adoption counselor will reach out to you to explain the process.

Keller was found in a shopping center, pregnant and afraid.  This sweet little girl appeared to have a severe upper respiratory illness and the good Samaritan took her home where she delivered two kittens.  One of the kittens failed to thrive and Candy's Cats was asked to intervene.  We took her into our foster program and sadly, the other kitten failed to thrive as well.

Keller is one of the sweetest, most loving purr baby and she deserves her own forever home.  Since she no longer had her kittens, we took her to be spayed, and our veterinarian diagnosed her with eye lid agenesis (she was born without eyelids.)

After consulting with Veterinary Ophthalmology Center, Instead of surgery to create eye lids or removing her eyes since she does have limited vision, Dr. Fife recommended a procedure called Distichia Cryopilation (Severe), we anticipate spending about $500-$700. What he will do is to sedate her, then freeze the area around her eyes, remove the fur that is falling into her eyes, scratching and irritating her corneas.  When she recovers (same day) she will need ointment in her eyes.

To speed up the adoption process, please go to www.candyscats.org/forms, click on the Adoption Application link and when you have completed the information requested, our volunteer will reach out to you. We do not adopt on a first-come, first serve basis but rather we adopt our cats to their new families according to the best fit for the cat. Again, thank you for your interest.
