I was adopted with another kitty and my humans decided that having two cats was too many.  I have a shoe fetish - I love to sleep on shoes.  Maybe that's because my humans had my claws removed and I just want to protect your shoes so you don 't lose your nails as well.  I get along fine with  cats, children, men, women?
