Candy's Cats

Aloha! My name is Kaia and I am a beautiful and exotic-looking kitten. I was found in a busy neighborhood with my brother and sisters, Maui, Lei Lei, and Moana. I was quite scared of people when I was first rescued, but my foster family kept working with me and once I showed excitement over the feather toy, they knew I would be getting more and more comfortable learning how to "cat" ....and I am! I am very motivated by small amounts of wet food and make cute little trilling noises and meows for a bite of fresh chicken pate or fishy soup! I love scratches on my cheek and under my chin, but I do need to be approached slowly. I am really getting more and more loving every day, but I am not ready to be held quite yet. If you pet me on my cheek and chin I will lay and show you my little cheetah spots on my belly which is my secret surprise for you! I am an independent little lady and can be adopted on my own, but I don't think I'd enjoy a home with small children or loud television sets. I don't seem bothered by my foster family's Golden Retriever, so they think I might be ok around dogs. My ideal home would have a sunny window where I can watch and chirp at birds, playtime with feather toys, and a family that will give me time to allow myself to feel comfortable to share my love. Thank you for your interest in one of our adoptable kitties. All of our kitties are fully vetted (age-appropriate vaccines, spayed, tested for feline leukemia and feline aids, and they are microchipped.) They live in private foster homes with their foster families. Our adoption fees are $75 - $125.

In order to match the best home for our foster kitties, we ask folks to complete our adoption application in advance; simply go to www.candyscats.org/forms. You will need to register on our site, then fill out an Adoption Application. We'll review your information and get back in touch with you.

Cats are not adopted first-come, first-served, but rather the best home for the kitty, but we do give consideration to the folks who take the time to fill out the application in advance. Almost all of our volunteers work during the week; to be able to meet one of our cats by appointment during non-adoption days (Saturday, 11 - 4, Sunday 12 - 4), your application needs to be filled out in advance and approved by our adoption coordinator prior to scheduling an appointment to meet with the cats.
