Candy’s Cats, Inc. (“CCI”) Foster/Relinquishment Agreement enables me to utilize its services to find home(s) for the stray cat(s) I have rescued.
CCI provides the following:
1. Exposure on our website, may provide exposure on our social media outlets (Facebook, etc.)
2. Availability to utilize CCI veterinarians at the reduced rescue rate for rescued cats only (cannot use for personal pets or dogs.)
3. Space for cat(s) to be seen at our various adoption venues, including being able to remain for extended periods of time.
4. Experienced adoption counselors who will carefully screen potential adopters, taking rescue/foster’s personal feelings into consideration. All cats adopted will be indoors only. Declawing is up to the discretion of rescuer. It is the position of CCI that declawing is an inhumane procedure.
5. Ability for potential adopters to email CCI directly.
6. Various forms to enhance adoptability of cat(s).
7. Participation in adoption events when available to showcase rescued cat(s).
I agree to the following:
1. I will provide foster care for the cat(s) being adopted through CCI. This care includes but is not limited to: proper food, water, shelter, socializing, love, exercise and medical care. The cat(s) will be inside only. Placing the cat(s) outside voids this agreement.
2. At a minimum, the cat(s) medical will include spay/neuter; vaccines, combo test, fecal exam, treatment for parasites. If the cat has health issues, those will be treated and full disclosure provided.
3. I understand that if the cat tests positive for feline leukemia and/or feline aids, that CCI cannot take the cat into its program but that a courtesy listing may be possible on the web site.
4. I understand that CCI has select "rescue" veterinarians for services and will follow all directions given to me in order not to jeopardize their professional relationship with the vet. I agree that all communication will go directly through CCI except if agreed upon by the vet to speak directly with me. Failure to follow the accepted "rescue" veterinarian procedures will result in my personal responsibility for all unauthorized veterinarian bills. I agree to make transportation arrangements to and from veterinarian offices.
6. I may be responsible for payment of all veterinary and other costs associated with preparing the cat(s) for adoption and am prepared to pay said costs.
7. I understand and agree that should I not make an effort to bring the cat to the adoption venues and/or to make the cat available for adoption for a period of thirty (30) days, then CCI vacates this agreement. I understand that if I do not pick up the cat at the requested time when it is at an adoption venue, that CCI, at their discretion, may turn the cat over to another rescue or shelter Should CCI have money invested in my rescued cat(s) I will reimburse them upon notice that this agreement is vacated due to my noncompliance.
8. I understand that the cat(s) may be adopted and returned for whatever reason and if there is a return, I agree to take the cat(s) back into my home and foster it until a new placement can be made. CCI cannot guarantee they can take the cat back if it is returned.
9. I agree that if I utilize the veterinarian for CCI, that neither CCI, nor the veterinarian’s office are to be held liable if there is a complication due to medical procedures, evaluations or treatment.
Hold Harmless Agreement
This Courtesy Foster Agreement (CFA) does not constitute any type of employer//employee relationship. I agree I am not an employee nor an independent contractor of CCI. This CFA may be cancelled at any time. My failure to comply with the provisions of this agreement will be deemed a breach of this agreement. Upon a breach of this agreement, I agree that I will now be considered the adopter/owner of the cat(s) and their continued health and well being will now be my personal responsibility as the owner of the cat(s).
I understand that my participation and/or involvement as a participant/ volunteer/ foster for Candy’s Cats, Inc. (CCI) carries with it the potential for certain risks associated with being around animals, including but not limited to the risks of being bitten, scratched, jumped upon, knocked over, chased, tripped, infected with a disease, or otherwise or frightened, as well as the risks of damage to personal property.
I acknowledge that I will be working with animals whose temperaments who may be unpredictable. I acknowledge and understand that cats can bite, scratch or otherwise cause me harm.
I understand that my participation as a volunteer for CCI will not make me an employee for any purpose, nor will I be eligible for any benefits.
I am willing participant/volunteer/foster for CCI.
I hereby declare and certify that I am over the age of eighteen (18) years and have no health problems that would endanger me in my participation with CCI. I further acknowledge that these risks could cause me, or others around me, harm, including, but not limited to, bodily injury, damage to property or emotional distress.
If I am not eighteen (18) years of age or older, my Parent or Guardian has signed below and acknowledges to be bound by this Release.
I hereby release, waive, discharge, and covenant not to sue CCI, its employees, agents, members, directors, officers, or any affiliated entities thereof, from all liability to the undersigned, his/her personal representative, assigns, heirs, next of kin, guests, and/or invitees for any and all loss or damage, and any claim or demands therefore on account of injury to the person or property or resulting in death of the undersigned or anyone else arising out of or related to the handling of an animal from CCI.
By signing this agreement, I agree to release, indemnify, and hold harmless CCI, as well as all of its administrators, employees, agents, representatives, officers, directors, successors, other volunteers, vendors, store locations, off-site venues and locations, etc. from all losses, claims, theft, demands, liabilities, grievances, causes of action, and/or expenses, including but not by way of limitation, all liability for property damages and personal injury of every kind, nature or description arising or which may hereafter arise, known or unknown, out of my participation, volunteering and/or fostering for CCI or out of my presence on any site, event or home used to further the cause of CCI.
